About me
I was born in 1975 in Kırıkkale, Türkiye. I completed my medical education at Gülhane Military Medical Faculty (GATA) between 1993–1999 and received the title of Medical Doctor. Between 2002–2005 I completed my ophthalmology residency at Gülhane Military Medical Academy and became an eye specialist in 2005. I worked at GATA as a specialist physician at the Ophthalmology Department between 2005–2010 and at Etimesgut Military Hospital between 2010–2013. I became an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in 2012 and worked as a lecturer at the GATA Ophthalmology Department between 2013–2016. I speak English fluently. I am married and have three children.
Board Certifications
In 2010, I passed “The Full Basic Science Examination in Ophthalmology”, “The Clinical Sciences Examination in Ophthalmology” and “The Advanced ICO Examination” conducted by the International Council of Ophthalmology, earning the title of FICO (Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology).
In 2012, I passed the European Board of Ophthalmology examination and received the title of FEBO (Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology).
Clinical Experience
I have extensive experience in cataract surgery, laser refractive surgery, retinal surgery, glaucoma surgery, eyelid surgery, strabismus surgery and ocular electrophysiologic testing (VEP, ERG, EOG). I currently see patients at my private clinic in the center of Kayseri and perform surgery at contracted hospitals.
Academic Work
I have authored more than 100 international articles and book chapters, 18 national articles, 45 international and 33 national congress/symposium presentations. My work has received over 1,500 citations (h-index 22) on Google Scholar. I have authored chapters in 3 international and 2 national books, served on the editorial boards of 4 international journals, and refereed for many respected international and national journals.
